Getting Started With Pelvic Floor Therapy

Contact us

Reach out via phone, email or our online contact form to discuss your concerns. We will answer any questions that you may have about pelvic floor therapy and determine if pelvic floor therapy is the appropriate next step.

Your initial evaluation will be scheduled at a date and time that is convenient for you.

We will review what to expect during your first pelvic floor evaluation and provide you with instructions on how to fill out your intake paperwork prior to your appointment time.

One-On-One Initial Evaluation (60 min)

After your phone call consultation to determine if pelvic floor therapy is a good fit for you, you will be scheduled for an initial evaluation. We will start your initial evaluation with an in-depth discussion about what brings you to pelvic floor therapy, your symptoms and history.

We will then analyze how your body moves during functional tasks, assess abdominal wall and breathing mechanics in order to understand how your body works. We will also delve into lifestyle habits, nutrition, and emotional/social components that may contribute to pelvic dysfunction.

If appropriate and with your informed consent, an internal pelvic floor exam may be included. This allows us to assess skin integrity, sensation, coordination, strength, flexibility and muscle tone.

By the end of your session, you will receive education, initial pelvic treatment and a personalized treatment plan according to your specific needs. You will know exactly what to expect throughout your course of care and a clear expectation of what progress may look like.

This is where we get to know you, hear your story and find out what’s important to you.

Follow up Pelvic Treatments (60 min)

Follow up treatments are specifically curated with your own plan of care following the initial evaluation. We will guide you through your treatment with a variety of techniques that may include: manual therapies (soft tissue mobilization, trigger point release, myofascial release, visceral mobilization, cupping, massage), therapeutic exercise/movement, nervous system regulation strategies and functional activities.

This is where the good stuff happens.

Telehealth Sessions (30-60 min)

Our customized Telehealth sessions offer specialized guidance and treatment to improve pelvic health and bridge the gap between distance and accessibility. We cover a wide range of issues like bladder and bowel disorders, sexual pain, and prenatal or postpartum care. Telehealth creates a confidential environment for clients to discuss concerns and receive expert advice from a pelvic floor specialist.
